At Film Collective 573, we model our structure after the non-hierarchical feminist collectives that emerged in the 1970s spaces where filmmaking was shared, political, and rooted in community.

We believe in filmmaking as response to absence, to misrepresentation, to power.

We believe stories should be shaped not by what markets demand, but what communities need to see.
